Volunteering Opportunities

The Quilt Hanging volunteers:

• will work in teams of two and three
• need to be comfortable being on step ladders
• use bagged and labeled hooks and chains to hang quilts in their assigned locations

Job description:

Drop off volunteers will be trained to:

Check-in, inspect, and sort quilts to prepare them for hanging

The Special Exhibit Setup volunteers:

• will work in teams to use bagged and labeled hooks and chains to hang vintage and heritage quilts in the designated location,
• need to be comfortable being on step ladders,
• may bring a step ladder of their choice

Chairperson: Barbie Bailey

Admissions volunteers will be trained to:

• Greet quilt show attendees as they enter the foyer
• Collect cash or use the credit card reader for the $10.00 admission
• Stamp attendees’ hands after payment
• Distribute programs

Basket Boutique volunteers will be trained to:

·      Greet quilt show attendees who visit the Basket Boutique table

·      Explain how the Basket Boutique works 

·      Collect money and distribute tickets.

Three volunteers: one standing and two sitting jobs, which can be rotated.

Quilters Market volunteers will:

• Greet potential customers and explain how the Market works
• Be provided with sales procedures and written instructions before the show

Small Quilt Auction volunteers will be trained to:

          Greet attendees and explain the auction

          Hand out bid sheets to interested bidders

          Place the bid sheet on the bid board under the qppropriate quilt number

Magazine and Book Sales Volunteers will be trained to:

• Greet people as they approach the booth                               
• Collect cash for sales
• Redistribute and add more magazines and books for sale

Block Auction volunteers will be trained to:

• Greet attendees and explain how the auction works
• Help interested bidders bid on desired block sets
• Keep the bidding sheets and blocks in tidy order
